Kathryn H. Leugers, Psy.D., MBA

Kathrn Leugers Kathryn H. Leugers, Psy.D., MBA, is a licensed psychologist who joined the Meers, Inc. team in 2007.  She is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Ohio Psychological Association.  Dr. Leugers completed her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Widener University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Leugers provides individual, family, and group therapy; parental consultation; academic counseling; and psychoeducational and career assessment services. She offers individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults (age 18 through 50 years old) and family therapy to parents and family members of all ages.  Dr. Leugers provides psychoeducational and career assessment services to individuals age 16 and older.  Her philosophy is to approach each individual and family based on their unique goals and needs while using applicable treatment strategies.  Dr. Leugers uses psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical-behavioral (DBT), mindfulness-based, and family systems perspectives. Individuals often seek Dr. Leugers’ services to enhance their academic, occupational, emotional, or relationship functioning.  Dr. Leugers specializes in the areas of anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), identity development, and emotional development.  She frequently helps clients address the following issues: general anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), separation anxiety, social anxiety, other specific fears, depression & other mood disorders, ADHD, learning differences & disorders, low motivation, organization & planning issues, sleeping difficulties, difficulty coping with emotions, identity issues, low self-esteem, social & relationship difficulties, family conflict, trust issues, sexuality & sexual identity concerns, eating and body image issues, substance abuse, behavioral addictions, oppositional behavior, and stressful life experiences (ex., abuse; death of a friend or family member; illness of a family member; separation, divorce, & remarriage; and adjustment to moving homes, schools, or jobs). Dr. Leugers has a special interest in helping young people develop the academic, emotional and social skills needed to effectively transition into adulthood.  In 2010, Dr. Leugers developed The Smart Series seminars to help tweens, teens, and young adults of all skill levels develop tools in these areas.  She offers seminars on personal, academic, emotional, and social skill development at Meers, Inc., and other venues & organizations in the Central Ohio area.
