Career Assessment Consultation The work and career histories of many people reveal that careers are often started by some outside factor which initiated the first job on the career path. Examples of such outside factors include: finding a job through a newspaper or on-line advertisement, being contacted by an executive recruiter, declaring a college major and searching for a related job, receiving an incidental recommendation by a friend or a family member, etc. Even though many careers are started by one of the above methods, the likelihood of maximizing career success and satisfaction is diminished by such methods. At Meers, Inc. Consulting Psychologists a more strategic approach is designed for each individual who seeks career consultation. We believe that an ideal approach is based upon an initial assessment of critical factors relating to interests, skills, vocational/personal values, intellectual aptitude/style, and personality. Psychological tests and/or instruments are utilized, along with professional interviews and dialogue, to ascertain information related to each of the above categories. Subsequent to this individualized assessment, the psychologist works with the client to design, or re-design, career goals and pathways for optimal performance and satisfaction based specifically upon data regarding the individual. Abbreviated and comprehensive assessments and consultation are designed, based upon the needs and interests of the client.
